Move Over Station Wagon, the Minivan is Here

Vans have been utilized for personal use since the 1930s, but it wasn’t until the 1984 that we had the “minivan”.

The introduction of the Chrysler minivans revolutionized the family-car market in the U.S. They soon displaced station wagons and became the car of choice for traveling “baby-boomers”.

Worldwide, minivans are also marketed as multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), people-carriers, people-movers, or multi-utility vehicles (MUVs).
